Meet Cheryl – Newborn & Family Photographer

I’m Cheryl, the photographer behind Captured by Cheryl.

I run a children’s photography studio based in Old Oscott, Birmingham, specialising in newborn, portrait and cake smash photography. My focus is on capturing natural, meaningful moments that reflect your family and the stage you’re in right now.

I’m fully insured, level 3 trained in paediatric first aid and hold a current enhanced DBS certificate. I’m also a qualified member of the Guild of Newborn and Baby Photographers, ensuring every session is carried out with your baby’s safety and comfort as the highest priority.

I absolutely love what I do and pride myself on creating a calm, relaxed experience for every family. Sessions are never rushed, allowing your baby to feel settled and secure while I gently capture those precious early details.

With over 15 years’ experience photographing babies and children, and a strong eye for detail, I work closely with you to create timeless images you’ll treasure for years to come.

Baby massage classes

I also offer baby massage classes, which provide a gentle way to support relaxation, bonding and development. Benefits may include:

My studio

My photography studio is based in Old Oscott, Birmingham and has been thoughtfully designed with families and babies in mind.

It’s a warm, calm and welcoming space where you can relax and feel comfortable throughout your session. Everything is set up to support a gentle, unhurried experience, with plenty of time for feeding, settling and cuddles.

The studio is fully equipped for newborn, portrait and birthday sessions, with a range of props and simple backdrops to keep the focus on your baby and your family. Easy access and nearby parking help make your visit as stress-free as possible.
