Newborn & sibling session
Well........... what is it people always say to me?? Never work with children or animals!
Today has been a lovely day which at the same time was a little draining but fun if that makes any sense?
I had the pleasure of meeting a lovely family with beautiful daughters Jemima (22 days) & Isabella (2). Jemima arrived awake & had a nice feed while we got to know Isabella, we was testing out my props with her baby doll & getting her used to her surroundings.
We did some family shots first which were great but we was aware that Isabella can be a little camera shy. We quickly moved onto the sibling shots which wasn't so easy. Young children get bored very quickly especially in a warm environment but my aim is to work at their pace & keep trying. You have to play it cool sometimes & go with the flow.
After a while we decided to give Isabella a break while we continued with the newborn poses. Jemima was an absolute dream, wriggler a times but she didn't mind any of the poses we tried and we was in love with this beautiful little girl.
Isabella was such a good girl playing with her toys while we continued the session but the time had come to try the sibling poses again. We tried a few different ideas, even watching Peppa pig, singing songs & then watching Kinder eggs on utube but nothing was working! We had such a stubborn princess but a very pretty one at that. Mom then had an amazing idea to do up some buttons on Isabella's play suit while she was lying down next to her new baby sister & although it wasn't the set up we had planned originally it worked!! In fact we had such a fun afternoon playing around that it felt like we had all known each other for years.
It just goes to show that we can have all these ideas and props but really the children control the session & its important they feel comfortable throughout. Even newborns can be unsettled to the point that the session can be slightly different to normal which is why we all need patience.
The pictures show you some of the images captured today & the one of Isabella just shows us how stubborn she was. x
